The 2.0 version of the Street Couch Entertainment website is finally here! Working on this website has definetly been a journey. I have had to balance working on this site along with recording new interviews, editing videos, and posting content. Not to mention other personal responsibilities I currently have.

I would like to formally apologize for the delay in content postings. I have been posting content weeks, sometimes months after initially recording that content. Hell, these two videos I just posted on YouTube were recorded around two years ago. I do gotta admit I didn't have much video production knowledge at the time, nor the computer space necessary to edit these videos.

These two videos were from the first ever couple episodes of The Street Couch Podcast. I originally intended the podcast to be a video podcast from the beginning, but after running into some hurdles I decided to abandon the idea and just post the audio. Episode 18, however, was the first ever video podcast released since I had some outside help for that episode and the following one. After receiving that help I decided to take it upon myself to get what I need to continue making video podcasts on my own, which I did.

I decided to revisit the videos for the first couple Street Couch episodes and just posted them the day before I'm typing this. I hope y'all enjoy the final products and cannot wait to show you what I've been working on these past couple months!

My Favorite Local Music!

By Danny Tabs

August 4, 2024

For this week's blog entry, I received a request to create a list for my top ten songs of all time. I have way too many to choose from, however, I have probably around 20 playlists of my favorite music, which changes very frequently. To make this simpler for myself, while at the same time providing interesting and relevant content for the blog's viewers, I have decided to pick my favorite songs from Houston's own local music scene. I came to this decision in order to provide a list of music that caters more to the blog's audience, which many are members and fans of the local music scene. You might not know some of these songs or artists, and I am hoping to provide novel content and new music for your playlists. Given that I have interviewed local bands in the past, and have formed close working relationships with some of these artists, I will provide a list of unbiased opinions not putting into account whether I know these artists personally or not.

This list includes music that I genuinely cannot get enough of, and will listen and jam to in my own personal time simply for listening pleasure, regardless if I know these artists personally or not. That being said, at the top of my list is "In Continuum" by Midnight Spies. I chose this song as number one because I cannot go a single day without this song being in my head or me going out of my way to listen to it. It has a familiar 80s vibe to it but with completely original melodies and sounds that do not sound familiar at all. This song was released in 2024 but sounds like a long-lost unreleased song by a major artist of the 80s. I have included the list in its entirety in this post, so feel free to check all these songs out and let me know what you think!
